Continue tour: [One: Canary Database Curation] [Two: Animal-Human Health Linkages] [Three: Searching] [Four: Other Features]

Every curated record in the Canary Database will indicate whether several key aspects linking animal and human health are addressed by the study. As the number of sentinel studies curated increases, we will be able to provide a quick overview of the extent to which existing research covers these various linkages.

For example, this chart indicates the frequency of studies concerned with the exposure "Water Pollution, Chemical" where linkage data has been provided in each of the categories listed.

sample chart of linkage indicators

Exposures and Outcomes indicate whether the study covers animal exposures and animal health outcomes.

Relationships indicates whether the study associates animal exposures and health outcomes.

Interspecies indicates whether the study discusses differing susceptibilities among animal species.

Exposure linkage and Outcome linkage indicate the exposures and outcomes are shared between animals and humans.

Genomic indicates whether the study includes data about gene sequence information.

As the Canary Database grows to include thousands of curated studies, charts such as the example above will be dynamically generated for any combination of exposures, outcomes, species, or locations.
